Modern agricultural equipment and facilities are increasingly adopting embedded microcontrollers. The coordination among these microcontrollers requires effective wired and wireless networking, which allow machine-to-machine, machine-to-man, and machine-to-mobile (M2M) communications. Integration of these wired and wireless networks with the Internet creates the “Internet of Things” (IOT), which will revolutionize the entire agricultural production system.
