The secondary metabolites of plants have a very important relationship with their growth environment. There are many medicinal plants growing in the northwest of China. This area has the characteristics of high altitude, climate drought, large temperature difference between day and night, long sunshine time and radiation intensity. Due to the unique conditions, the plants growing in this area may produce some secondary metabolites with novel structure and multiple biological activities. Therefore, some medicinal plants in this area were chosen to study their secondary metabolites and a series of novel terpenoids with multifaceted activities were found. |
