Research Interests:
His previous efforts were mainly focused on crop cultivation, agroecology and ecosystem ecology specified in semi-arid northwestern China. Some feasible solution frameworks were developed to increase land productivity and to improve local ecological environment for local community survival and development. He was therefore awarded by China Government as the Yangtze Scholarship, and the Distinguished Young Scientist by the Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as First Class Award of Scientific Progress by Ministry of Education of China.
His research interests are crop eco-physiological adaptation to arid environment, field crops management, ecosystem sustainable designing and the role of human being in restoring and conserving the structure and function of integrated ecosystem especially in the arid and semiarid regions in northwest of China and other similar regions in the world.
Professional Activities:
Adjunct Professor of the University of Western Australia and the University of Ottawa in Canada.
