Remote sensing for precision agriculture and pest management, airborne multispectral, hyperspectral and thermal imaging systems; unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and satellite imagery; image processing and GIS techniques; electronic and spectral sensors and GPS guidance systems; ground-based and aircraft-based variable rate application systems
Professional Activities:
Authored/coauthored over 300 scientific publications, including 130 refereed journal articles, 14 books/book chapters, and over 150 other publications; gave over 150 technical presentations (over 70 by invitation) at regional, national, and international forums, including more than a dozen invited presentations at professional conferences held in six countries; has held various leadership positions in five professional societies; invited/elected to serve as editor or associate editor for five technical journals, as a reviewer for 35 technical journals, and as a technical expert or panelist for six national and international research/grant programs; serves as an adjunct or guest professor at four universities or institutes; and co-chaired and/or served as academic chair for several international conferences.
