Research experience
Under the supervise of Prof. Youke Wang during his master career, Shouyang Liu mainly worked on optimizing the water use efficiency of the jujube orchard in the Loess Plateau. He exploited the double-source evapotranspiration (ET) model to simulate and predict the ET for jujube orchard. Long-term field observations proved this method outperforms the classic Penman–Monteith model. Thanks to thesponsor from Chinese Scholarship Council. He completed his Phd with Fred Baret in INRA, France. During his Phd, he mainly dedicated to develop methodologies for field high-throughput phenotyping. He and Fred Baret originally proposed the framework of functional-structural plant models (FSPMs) assisted phenotyping to assimilate multi-source phenotyping observations and drive the crop model.
Research Interests:
Smart farming: the integration of phenotyping observation into farming managements
Crop modelling:the development of FSPMs
Phenotyping:the development of Phenotyping methods, especially with RGB camera and LiDAR
